Дисертація присвячена аналізу любовної лірики лейкістів та романтиків харківської школи. Дослідження спрямоване на узгодження світоглядної парадигми сприйняття еросу українськими та англійськими романтиками. На ґрунті спільних рецептивних джерел сакрального еросу виявляються типологічні збіги і розходження у царині поетичного тлумачення еросу. Висвітлюється типологія художніх втілень еросу у поезії романтиків харківської та «озерної» шкіл, яка є одним із аспектів актуалізації типологічної спільності романтичного художнього поля. У дисертації викладені результати феноменологічних досліджень любовної поезії лейкістів та романтиків харківської школи, здійснених на основі виявлення і опису спільних параметрів системи поетик образного поля романтичного еросу. Аналізується процес інтимізації усіх рівнів романтичного універсуму, визначаються основні стратегії любовної комунікації у романтичній ліриці.

Диссертация посвящена анализу любовной лирики лейкистов и романтиков харьковской школы. Исследование направлено на согласование мировоззренческой парадигмы восприятия эроса украинскими и английскими романтиками. На основе общих рецептивных истоков сакрального эроса исследуются типологические схождения и расхождения в сфере поэтической трактовки романтического эроса. Типология художественных воплощений эроса в поэзии романтиков харьковской и «озерной» школ является одним из аспектов актуализации типологической общности романтического художественного поля. В диссертации изложены результаты феноменологических исследований интимной лирики лейкистов и романтиков харьковской школы, проведенных на основе выявления и описания общих параметров системы поэтик образного поля романтического эроса. Анализируется процесс интимизации всех уровней романтического универсума, определяются основные стратегии любовной коммуникации в романтической лирике.

Recently Comparative Literature studies have been characterized by great interest in new forms of identification of interethnic mutual literary relations. The Thesis is devoted to the study of romantic eros phenomenon both in Ukrainian and English poetry of Romanticism. The thesis is based on the newest approach in the use of theory of phenomenological receptions in romantic culture and literature. One of its aspects is eros which we consider in the texts of Ukrainian and English national schools of romantic poetry. The investigation also deals with scientific works by early romantic poets of Eastern and Western Europe. Our attention is focused on the creative heritage of The Lake School of poetry (W. Wordsworth, S.T. Coleridge, R. Southey) and The Kharkiv Romantic School (V. Zabila, M. Petrenko, A. Metlynsky, M. Kostomarov, O. Korsun, L. Borovykovsky, O. Afanasiev-Chuzhbynsky and others).

The urgency of the study is also determined by necessity to define poetic forms of romantic eros as a specifically romantic way of a divine essence. Comprehension eros as a form of receptive level of romantic poetic thinking derives from ancient tradition of medieval theological interpretation of the concept, goes back to Plato, mysterious cults and archetypal structures. Analyzing and structuring of the semantic sources of romantic eros enables representation of receptive nature of Romanticism in a new light. 

The thesis investigates such interrelated sources as Early Christian theology, medieval Christian mysticism, medieval lyric and legends of love, Neo-Platonic writings, The Old Testament, the Song of Songs which include all aspects of divine love. The thesis also analyses Christian elements in the love poetry of Troubadour Lyric (Courtly Love): hierarchy of love (divine (reciprocal) love), love as a yearning, wound of love, union or exchange of hearts between lovers, metaphorical death and resurrection. 

The present paper highlights romantic eros and decoding as a variant of sacral eros in Romanticism. On the basis of general receptive sources of sacral eros the thesis investigates typological convergences and divergences in English and Ukrainian poetry. The comparative analysis in thanatology of romantic eros represents the reception of sacral root in displays of love suffering as a unique phenomenon. 

Ukrainian and English romanticists have represented a hierarchy of love forms, directing impulses from the terrestrial to the divine. Romantic eros exalts the highest form – love for God / Nature. Love appears in romantic poetry in the form of Neo-Platonic Christian eros, therefore romanticists use an iconic model of body’s image considering verbal interdictions in the usage of sensual lexicon. 

The present paper makes an attempt both to analyze and describe the poetics of the «image field» of romantic eros. The unique branched system of poetics functions inside of a single image field of romantic poetry. Poetics of elements, poetics of death / wound / tears, poetics of the divine / the demonic, poetics of dream / madness, poetics of secret/wonder constructs intersystem textures which highlight both general and peculiar features in the interpretation of any image / motive. The Thesis also focuses on dominant motifs of the image field of romantic eros. 

The thesis emphasizes the very process of harmonization on all levels of Romantic Universe. This process is closely connected with basic strategy of love communications in Ukrainian and English romantic poetry. Communicative strategy of harmonization of The Romantic Universe functions according to certain hierarchy of romantic feelings. On the micro level the romantic communications use a model I’m → Beloved, on the macro level they use a model I’m → Nature (God).
